"Gwaa, gwaa, giggle, hee,
hee" warbled the Australian magpie in the early morn outside our bedroom window. The piercing morning sun in Australia boasts of the new day, unlike Northeastern America where dawn brings a soft golden indication of the brilliance to come. Australian birds belt out their songs, the raucous Kookaburra's laugh sounds like monkeys in the jungle, hugely different from the pair of red Cardinals whistling to each other in our New York backyard. Thanks to the distinctive birdcall I always know what continent I'm on when I wake up in Australia.
I prayed and sought God's message for Brisbane, Queensland, our northernmost ministry. God told me, "Pray for healing of people's past that they may know their purpose, turn them or reaffirm them in the plan they are living out, sow into their future becoming a part of their destiny."
We had a threefold mission. First, to release the power of the Blood of Jesus Christ through God's Word and the laying-on-of-hands for the healing of past hurts in people's lives that damaged their identity in Christ. Second, to encourage and reaffirm some as they walked out God's plan, to reestablish others who had wandered from the path or to release Holy Spirit power for those on a destructive path for a radical course correction to establish them in God's good plan for their future. Third, to speak prophetic words, scriptural insights and understandings while preaching, testifying and praying for individuals; to offer Holy Spirit baptism to all for the empowerment and the equipping necessary to experience their destiny in Christ. Ultimately, sow into their future. Participate in future choices by sowing God's Word into lives today. Speak scriptural verses that individuals would recall in times of future need.
Purpose, Plan, and Destiny was my theme for the three-day conference at River of Life. It became a heart-song for me throughout the mission. Whether traveling sleek highways or bouncing down dirt roads my spirit repeated the refrain purpose, plan, destiny…
