Wings of Promise

The Bishop heard Ed and I were coming to Kasese, Uganda to see the land we were offered for the development of the Bridge for Peace Childrens' Home. He responded, "The land is there. They are coming to begin the project." With those wise words he launched the mission to fulfill the vision.

This photo captured a precious moment. Bishop Nkaijanabwo points to the boundaries of the land where Bridge for Peace will construct the children's home. Ed assesses the acreage and strategizes. While looking around, I envisioned laundry flapping on clothes lines, acres of banana trees and sweet potatoes under cultivation to feed hungry tummies, and children pumping their legs to fly higher on swing sets.

Silently I pray, "Aim for heaven, children. Jesus will give you wings."

  1. Alyssa & I just read your blog about the children and their orphanage. We prayed them to have a nice life, not to have a Mrs. Hannigan (like from 'Annie') and get swing sets and a dog like Sandy (from Annie). And today when Alyssa uses her brand new swing set for the first time it's going feel like heaven. (Alyssa's words)

We love you sooooooooo much. (this last line was also typed by Alyssa's own precious fingers from her heart)
