The blind
man in the book of John acknowledged his blindness. Do we acknowledge our perspectives may be
skewed, our vision darkened by hurtful events, or our viewpoint influenced by
self-interest? I remember a statement
made by an arrogant man. He was
successful according to the world, but slowly destroying his family through
self-centeredness. He spat out, "I
don't need the Bible to tell me right from wrong." He had contempt for any viewpoint other than
his own, always right in his own eyes.
I've known people who can't see their own giftedness, always compare
themselves with others and come up short.
The once blind man in John's gospel says, "One thing I do know, that
though I was blind now I see. Never
since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a person
born blind". Jesus Christ restores vision to those who seek His
healing. Lord, thank You for continually
opening our eyes, You are the only one Who can!
