Finger Food Jesus Style
The Bridge for Peace Uganda team arranged a buffet lunch stop. Two ladies set out chafing dishes for us. They lifted lids and greens called dodo appeared. Matoke, mashed bananas baked in leaves, were on the menu. The largest dish held a dozen grilled fish, heads intact. Finally, red fish sauce waited to be ladled over the fabulous meal. Augustine showed me how to eat the Lake Tilapia with my fingers. No worries about bones, you can easily pick out the meat. I imagine Jesus may have eaten fire-roasted fish with His fingers! I could sense His joyful Presence with us as the team dug in-literally!

Yes, that's how we learned to eat fish from our Arab Cristian brothers in Israel. Makes finding the bones sooooo.... much easier, provided the fish is not too hot ;)
